• DitchFest “Innovative Scholars” Program •

Congratulations to our first scholarship recipient: Michelle Ondrejka of Phippsburg, CO! To read a bit more about Michelle, check out this news brief from the Steamboat Pilot & Today.

Each year, the DitchFest organization will be offering an Arts/Music scholarship to at least one local graduating high school senior, whose intention is to pursue some form of higher education and a career path in either of these areas. The scholarship is meant to reward students with innovative new ideas in the realm of Art and/or Music, and applicants will need to showcase their best, most unique work.

Scholarship winner(s) will be featured on the DitchFest website, as well as a newspaper press release, and will have the opportunity to display/perform their piece(s) at the following year’s festival. We hope to make the Innovative Scholars program a strong, well-known institution in Routt County, so that local students know there is a place and a need for their creativity in our community, and in the world.

The 2nd annual application will open October 25th at 12:00 PM, and close May 25th at 5:00 PM. Applicant(s) who are chosen for the award will be notified of this decision by June 25th, with funds distributed before the start of the following academic year. Applicants are to notify DitchFest if their collegiate/postsecondary academic plans change, such that they will not be able to use the scholarship, so that the funds may be awarded to another applicant.

We look forward to reviewing your submissions, and rewarding you industrious up-and-coming creators for your tenacity, ingenuity, and hard work. Best of luck to all our applicants!
